LONGTIME NARNIA DRUMMER ANDREAS ”HABO” JOHANSSON ANNOUNCES DEPARTURE FROM THE BAND

A message from Andreas:

I have been a member of the band Narnia since 1997. We’ve been blessed and had a fantastic journey together, and we have been involved in things I didn’t even dare to dream about back in my childhood bedroom.

There have been 9 studio albums, live albums, liveDVDs, compilation albums and several hundred gigs around the world.

Over time, unfortunately, it has become more and more difficult to combine my life as a session drummer with Narnia’s schedule, and we have made a mutual decision that it is time for me to leave the drummer’s seat.

I’m grateful to my dear brothers Martin Härenstam, Jonatan Samuelsson and our soundman Viktor Stenquist who worked so hard, always dedicated to the band, both on and off stage, and to previous members and people who have surrounded us over the years.

Extra big thanks to CJ Grimmark. One of the absolute best guitarists in the world who I’ve had the great privilege of playing with so many times and who always made me sound better, challenged me musically and always stayed true to his faith and his vision for Narnia.

And to Christian Liljegren, the man with the most powerful voice that has given Narnia its signature. With his outstanding stage performances, his passion, big heart and true faith he, together with CJ, has been Narnia’s driving force for such a long time. 

But most importantly, Christian is my dear childhood friend who brought me on board back in -97. For that and for all the fun we got to be part of I am forever grateful.

And last but not least to all the fans for supporting the band over the years, and for all the nice meetings you have given me.

The vision and journey of Narnia lives on, but without me!

‘Ghost town’ – New music video with lyrics by Narnia out today

To follow up previous music-video for the closing song ‘Wake Up Call’, Narnia releases an official music video with lyrics for the title track ‘Ghost Town’ today!

The video is directed by Jonatan Samuelsson. After Effect design by hm2. Live-clips from Sabaton Open Air 2017 and more.

Press Release: Today, Narnia releases ‘Hold On’ – The second single from the new studio album ‘Ghost Town’

Stockholm, Sweden. March 3rd, 2023

The Swedish metal band Narnia today (March 3rd) releases the single ‘Hold On’, the second single from the upcoming record ‘Ghost Town’, the band’s ninth studio album. ‘Hold On’ showcases a seasoned and still hungry five-some that musically gives a nod to the band’s earliest influences, which should appeal to longtime fans. Follow-up tour is planned, and Narnia is ready for huge steps into a new, exciting chapter.

While waiting for Swedish metal band Narnia’s ninth studio-album, ‘Ghost Town’, which will be released on March 17th, second single; ‘Hold On’, is released on all major digital platforms in cooperation with Sound Pollution Distribution. The song has been described from reviewers as a song that easily could be included on the first albums, with its classic metal sound and prominent keyboards. A sound that has been associated with the band for their 27 years to date.

This single release continues the begun countdown of a new major venture with Narnia, which means album release in March and subsequent tours worldwide tours.

Lyrics that make you reflect combined with the broad musical breadth the band possesses, along with a solid production, is Narnia’s musical trademark which runs throughout the entire album.

If the latest studio album ’From Darkness to Light’ from 2019 marked the way, ’Ghost Town’ is a more than worthy sequel with a life of its own.

“Ghost Town” is a well-crafted piece of classic and melodic metal, produced by CJ Grimmark, mixed by the band”s sound engineer Viktor Stenquist, and mastered by Thomas Plec Johansson. It will be available on all digital platforms, CD, and vinyl on March 17th, 2023, in collaboration with Sound Pollution Distribution.
