Narnia Announces New Studio Album “X” – Celebrating 30 Years of Legacy

NARNIA ANNOUNCES NEW STUDIO ALBUM “X” – CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF LEGACY

Uppsala, Sweden. MARCH 24th, 2026

Swedish melodic metal pioneers Narnia return with their tenth studio album, “X”, marking the band’s 30th anniversary and nearly three decades of unwavering presence on the international metal scene.

While their previous release “Ghost Town” (2023) reaffirmed the band’s melodic metal foundation, “X” expands Narnia’s sonic landscape. The album moves confidently between soaring, arena-ready choruses and more adventurous, progressive passages, without ever losing the band’s unmistakable identity.

Songs like “Oceanwide”, “Every Breath”, and “Heaven’s Calling” showcase Narnia’s gift for strong hooks and uplifting melodies. At the other end of the spectrum, the high-energy “Remedy (SOS)” pushes the tempo to new heights, while tracks such as “God Under Fire” and “Jerusalem” explore more intricate arrangements and progressive textures.

Multiple lead vocalists share the spotlight throughout the album. Guitarist CJ Grimmark and bassist Jonatan “Jono” Samuelsson step forward on selected tracks, adding new tonal colors, while Christian Liljegren’s unmistakable voice continues to anchor the sound.

The album also reconnects with the band’s legacy. “The Man from Nazareth Pt. II” serves as a continuation of a fan-favorite from the 2006 album “Enter the Gate”, while “The War that Tore the Land (Reprise)” offers a reflective callback to 2019’s “From Darkness to Light”.

– “This album represents both where we come from and where we’re heading”, says CJ Grimmark. “It’s heavier, broader, and more dynamic, but still unmistakably Narnia.”

“X” stands as both a celebration of Narnia’s legacy and a bold statement of where the band stands today—musically sharper, more diverse, and more confident than ever.

The first single, “Oceanwide”, will be released on April 4th, 2026.

The album is produced and mixed by CJ Grimmark and mastered by Thomas “Plec” Johansson at Studio Bohus. It will be available on all digital platforms, CD, and vinyl on May 29, 2026, via Sound Pollution Distribution.

To follow up previous music-video for the closing song ‘Wake Up Call’, Narnia releases an official music video with lyrics for the title track ‘Ghost Town’ today!

The video is directed by Jonatan Samuelsson. After Effect design by hm2. Live-clips from Sabaton Open Air 2017 and more.

The Swedish metal band Narnia today (March 3^rd) releases the single ‘Hold On’, the second single from the upcoming record ‘Ghost Town’, the band’s ninth studio album. ‘Hold On’ showcases a seasoned and still hungry five-some that musically gives a nod to the band’s earliest influences, which should appeal to longtime fans. Follow-up tour is planned, and Narnia is ready for huge steps into a new, exciting chapter.

While waiting for Swedish metal band Narnia’s ninth studio-album, ‘Ghost Town’, which will be released on March 17^th, second single; ‘Hold On’, is released on all major digital platforms in cooperation with Sound Pollution Distribution. The song has been described from reviewers as a song that easily could be included on the first albums, with its classic metal sound and prominent keyboards. A sound that has been associated with the band for their 27 years to date.

This single release continues the begun countdown of a new major venture with Narnia, which means album release in March and subsequent tours worldwide tours.

Lyrics that make you reflect combined with the broad musical breadth the band possesses, along with a solid production, is Narnia’s musical trademark which runs throughout the entire album.

If the latest studio album ’From Darkness to Light’ from 2019 marked the way, ’Ghost Town’ is a more than worthy sequel with a life of its own.
